an interesting though not always successful exploration of hetero gender politics when they are supposedly stripped of all the societal stuff that we think makes them untenable. it turns out that adam and eve in the garden of eden is actually a pretty toxic fantasy to try to bring to life.

for a movie with oliver reed as a horny middle aged weirdo and amanda donohoe as a young beauty who spends more than 2/3rds of the runtime naked, there's really nothing sexy about this film. the story is frustrating and deeply sad, and both reed and donohoe turn in astonishingly good work on what had to be a hellish shoot. (this was donohoe's second film ever!!)
